JetPunk and MyGeoQuiz are both free geography quizzes in a browser. That is where the overlap ends. JetPunk is a large catalogue: thousands of user-created quizzes, many of them lists you type into a box. MyGeoQuiz is a small, edited product — flags, capitals, landmarks, food, silhouettes, world facts, country pages and one daily mix.

What JetPunk is good at

If you want “name every country in Africa” or “every Olympic host city,” JetPunk’s typed-list format is the right machine. The site has been around long enough that almost every list a geography nerd can invent already exists. Difficulty ranges from trivia-night easy to completionist hard. That breadth is the point.

Where JetPunk is a poor fit

User quizzes are uneven. Some are carefully sourced; some are a mood. JetPunk also runs a site-wide ranking system — levels one to a hundred, with percentile bands across close to a million users — which is a real draw if you want a number that goes up, and noise if you just want to name some capitals. Personal bests stay on the device.

What MyGeoQuiz is good at

MyGeoQuiz is for the person who wants a flag, a capital, a landmark or a daily 15, with hard modes that sit lookalikes next to each other (Ireland / Ivory Coast, Romania / Chad). Continent filters keep a class on Europe or Africa instead of dumping the whole world. Outline maps on the printables pages are public domain worksheets, which JetPunk is not trying to be.
