Most geography quiz sites fail a class for a boring reason: someone has to log in. Shared Chromebooks, forgotten passwords, a teacher account that schools no longer get. Lizard Point discontinued teacher and student accounts in March 2023 and said the quiet part out loud — schools run ad blockers, so the free-quiz-with-rostering model does not pay. What is left is sites you can open and play.

What “no login” actually means

MyGeoQuiz is a browser quiz. Flags, capitals, landmarks, dishes, country outlines and world facts. No account, no class code, no email. Scores and streaks sit on the device. That is the trade: a student who switches computers does not bring a streak with them, and you do not get a markbook. If you need rostering, this is the wrong product. If you need twenty minutes on a projector, it is the right shape.

Keep the lesson inside one continent

A world flag quiz dumps 150 designs on a mixed-ability group and calls it differentiation. Continent pages exist so a Europe lesson stays in Europe and an Africa lesson stays in Africa: flags, capitals, landmarks and dishes, each filtered. The Americas pages cover North, Central and South together; Oceania is short enough to finish in one period.

Hard mode is the lookalike drill

Easy mode is the famous flags. Hard mode puts the near-miss in the answer row: Ireland next to Ivory Coast, Romania next to Chad, Australia next to New Zealand. That is the exercise a lot of textbooks describe and then print in black and white. On a projector the green/orange swap is the whole point.

Ireland is green, white, orange left to right. Ivory Coast is the same three colours reversed. If the class cannot tell them apart at a glance, hard mode is the worksheet.

What it is not

• •Not click-the-map. That is still Seterra, now at geoguessr.com/quiz/seterra. Use paper outlines when you need “where is Namibia on this map.”
• •Not a typed list. JetPunk is better if the goal is “name every country in Africa.”
• •Not Street View. GeoGuessr is a different game and a paid one if you want more than the daily.
• •Not a teacher dashboard. There is no assignment, no pause-for-the-room control, no score upload.

Ads, and where they sit

The site is ad-supported. Ads show on quiz landing pages and on results — not on the question screen, and not as a gate before play. If a school network strips ads, the quiz still runs. If you need a paper period with the network down, that is what the public-domain outline maps are for.

Open a continent flag quiz, put hard mode on when the group is ready for Ireland and Ivory Coast, and skip the account creation slide that used to eat the first five minutes.
